  • Short description: We are Char2Cool, a non-profit organisation compensating CO2 by enabling locals around the equator to harvest Water hyacinths from water bodies and turning them into char coal which can then be embedded into exhausted soils. Thus, we avoid the emission of toxic methane and we bind CO2 for more than thousand years within the soil. Crop yields are doubled, costs for fertilizer are reduced and the water demand decreases. There are 500 Mio hectares to be regenerated! This is our contribution for climate protection and we also create jobs and food security in regions suffering from poverty. Reasonable. Long term. Sustainable.
