The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Michael Otto Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme are hosting the conference for the second time.
After a promising start last year, the 2nd Hamburg Sustainability Conference will take place at the beginning of June. The organisers have set themselves the goal of bringing together the Global North and the Global South and forging ‘global alliances for a sustainable future’. The following topics will take centre stage:
- International financial architecture: Discussions on climate-related debt burdens, fairer rating systems and a reform of the World Bank are to be continued.
- Investments for SDGs: In addition, the focus will be on how we can mobilise more private capital to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
- Leveraging Transformation: What contribution can ‘Future Cities’ make to protecting the climate and the environment?
