In 2026, Dortmund will host the 9th German-African Business Forum NRW – a popular networking event for companies looking to invest in Africa.

The North Rhine-Westphalian forum, which has been held every two years since 2010, is organized by Auslandsgesellschaft.de, an association that aims “to build bridges between people of different origins, between peoples, social orders, and cultures”. To this end, it organizes study trips, exchange programs, workshops, and discussion forums.

The event, which is being held on behalf of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, is primarily aimed at German companies that want to invest in Africa or deepen trade relations.
