We welcome the IPO of Maroccan hospital operator Akdital „as its gives Africa’s primary market a much-needed boost“, Christian writes. „In the last few years, the number of listings on the continent was underwhelming. In 2021, only eight companies went public, one more than in 2020 and one less than in 2019.“
Regrettably, many African companies would often prefer to seek growth capital outside the equity market, partly because of the perceived burdensome regulations.
