November 09: Panel Discussion “Compact with Africa”
Experts discuss the record of the G20 initiative “Compact with Africa”, which aims to increase investment in the participating African countries.
On 20 November, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will host the first Compact with Africa Summit under his leadership. In the run-up to the summit, the German Africa Foundation, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Rethinking Africa Foundation and United Europe e. V. will host a high-level roundtable discussion.
The focus is on the question of how the Compact for Africa initiative launched in 2017 can be made more successful for all involved and geared towards sustainable economic growth. After a welcome by Karamba Diaby (SPD), member of the German Bundestag, and an impulse by Stefan Liebing, there will be a panel with these experts:
Zeno Fleck (Tauber Solar)
Hannah Kleber (KPRN Network)
Grace Mbungu (Africa Policy Research Institute)
em. Robert Kappel (University of Leipzig)
Rita Schutt (German Federal Ministry of Finance)
Paul van Son (Dii Desert Energy)
Sabine Odhiambo (German Africa Foundation, Moderation)
